DUNCAN Ó CEALLAIGH
Born sometime in the last third of the 20th Century and of complex Scots-Irish-English ancestry,
Duncan Ó Ceallaigh experienced many mishaps and adventures before finally arriving in Germany in the mid-nineties.
This did not bring an end to either the mishaps or the adventures, but at least provided some new perspectives on the (non-English speaking) world.
The Baltic Sea port of Wismar has been what most people would call home for him for the last few years.
Besides photography, he is a graphic designer, musician and translator. See the links page for more about that.
The book ‘Winter in Wismar’, published in December 2005, is his first collection of photography.
As the reader may have noticed, while the, um, 'artist' takes his work seriously, he is somewhat less inclined to be so regards himself.
What one is to make of this fact is left entirely up to the reader’s discretion and imagination.
Also, he hates being on the wrong side of the camera, so you can thank Andy for managing to grab the shot above.
EQUIPMENT
Pretty modest stuff I'm afraid:
Analog: Canon AE-1 Program (sold), Lomo LC-A (current)
Digital: Lumix DMC FZ5 (sold), Canon EOS 5D II (stolen), Sony NEX-5R (current)
